Jacko and his mom have a very sad story to share but with your help we can make sure this story has the fairytale ending it deserves….

I would like to Thank you for your support and help to rescue my lovely dog from the horrible situation and tragedy in Syria, the country who I was born in it as a Palestinian Refugee. I studied acting in the Higher institute of Dramatic art in Damascus, I graduated in 2011 with a promising future but unfortunately the situation turned upside down after the revolution. In 2012 I had to flee with my family from my City Yarmouk Camp in Damascus to Lebanon (Beirut) leaving my future behind, my home, my friends and my relatives.

In 2016 when I became 30 years old with nothing shining in my life I decided to own a dog to rescue my self from nothing, I was hopeless, lonely and I needed to fill the emptiness with a pleasure, and there is no pleasure more than care of a beautiful dog, Jacko is my child who I didn’t give birth to.

In 2018 our lives were once again turned upside down when we were forced to leave Lebanon and return to Syria so I decided I needed to escape and the following months I went on an incredibly difficult journey which eventually brought me to ‘The Jungle’ in France where I spent 2 miserable months before coming to the UK as an asylum seeker and in 2019 I was given leave to remain in this wonderful country.

My nightmare now is helping my family and my dog to survive too. In Syria Jacko lost most of his weight because missing me and there is not enough food available,  the quality of the life in Syria isn’t good for  humans  and is even worse for the dogs and another pets, Jacko had to stay at home for 8 months and only walked twice,  because of the poison which the government in Syria covered the areas with to kill lots of dogs in the streets, plus most of people  there not nice with dogs. Jacko was suffering because of the way life is in Syria.
Fortunately War Paws didn’t hesitate to help me to be   reunited again with my Jacko and he is now safe in Lebanon where he will remain for the next 4 months whilst he undergoes the processes required for him to come home to me in the UK.
In a very short time my entire life fell apart, my once promising future was snatched from me but now I have the opportunity to rebuild my life and be reunited with my best friend.  Please help me to raise the funds needed to bring Jacko back to me, he is my child and although we were apart for so long I will not leave him behind.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows War Paws to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to War Paws we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like War Paws to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that War Paws will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When War Paws receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
